Our dinner party reds mixed case offers a curated mix of red wines, perfect for guests (or for yourself).
Raka Petit Verdot: An aroma of black cherry and cranberry infused with plenty of herbal floral notes like violet and sage. A fruity palate with a firm tannin structure and hazelnut hints from the oak offers a lingering aftertaste.
David Finlayson Cabernet Sauvignon: Made to exude absolute purity of varietal character and as such display true Cabernet Sauvignon cassis and blackcurrant flavours. The wine has a fresh, minty herbaceousness backed by mocha vanilla oak. Firmly structured tannins and a long finish on the palate show good ageing potential.
Babylonstoren Babel: A dry, full-bodied red wine. A balanced fusion of dark-red berry and chocolate flavours, with a soft mouth-feel and juicy, lingering finish. Pairs well with rack of lamb, oxtail, and succulent lamb shank.
Needlingshof Malbec: A dark ruby wine, with Violet fragrances interwoven with ripe plum, dark chocolate, and vanilla aromas. Rich and full with plum and berry flavours with a savoury touch supported by soft tannins. This wine is ready to drink now but will mature for a further 5 years.
Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz: Soft tannins, full-bodied mouth-feel & silken finish lends itself as a platform for a heady mix of red berry, black fruit flavour fynbos nuances.
De Grendel Merlot: A youthful ruby-red colour is a precursor to the bright, crunchy fruit appeal of this medium-bodied Merlot from cool Durbanville origin. Subtle tea leaf and Edamame provide savoury interest to the juicy fruit on the palate that integrates fine tannins and vibrant acidity to perfection and finishes dry and appetising.
