The Sadie Family Palladius, the sister wine to Columella, has probably changed the most since its release. It started off with Chenin Blanc and Viognier as the main components but now boasts more than 11 varieties from 17 different vineyards. This is South African winemaking at its best – a super-complex wine with many pieces to its puzzle that requires cerebral engagement. This is one of SA’s finest whites.

‘Over the past 5 years Palladius has been the wine that gained most in quality and ref inement and much of this has to do with the addition of more vineyards and the improvement of their viticulture. There is always room for improvement but currently of all our wines the Palladius, with 17 vineyards, obviously represents the biggest canvas of the Swartland.
